[TN-Bird] More Purple Finches

Since seeing the 3 male and 4 female Purple Finches on Sunday we've seen one or 
two at a time on the feeders during the week.  But this morning there were 7 
males in breeding plumage and 2 females on our feeder at the same time. We are 
always happy to see such gorgeous birds but we are puzzled as to where they've 
been all winter and why so many are showing up now.  
Our pair of Brown Thrashers have made their annual spring appearance this week 
and they are spectacular.  Wednesday night on the way to church we saw 
Rough-winged Swallows on the cliffs at Snows Hill and then Tree Swallows at 
Liberty.  No warblers or hummingbirds in our yard yet but we are anxiously 
watching.
