I had a high (winter 2002 ) count of Purple Finches today (38) and 2
Pine Siskins at my feeders in Jacksboro, TN.(Campbell County) I don't
know whether to by happy about them or not. They, along with tons of
Goldfinches and other feeder birds are eating 50 lbs. of Black Oil a week
and the sparrows nearly the same amount of millet mix!
I must wean them a little I suppose, or do away with some of my 8
feeders.
I also had my first Red-Wing Blackbirds and Starlings turn up and proceed
to wipe out my suet.
