Feb. 24, 2007 Shelby Co, TN I added active nest #13 and #14 today to my year list with birds sitting on nests at two new locations. Both were seen from major roadways, I-300 in northwest Memphis and off Singleton Parkway to the northwest. That makes 4 added this week. All locations have been found within the last month as the birds are sitting high in the nest due to chicks or clutches. I had complained that I had only seen a couple earlier when last year I had 6 by that time. Just goes to show what a little extra effort can produce. This is the largest number of active Great Horned Nests I've ever found in one season. Hopefully more to come. Good Birding !!! Jeff R.
