I hardly ever put my two cents worth in, especially up against a "serious
birder". I don't feel qualified enough. I'm more of a back yard birder than
anything. But I was a little ticked off at the above statement. I happen to
REALLY enjoy the posts of just who's hanging around in who's backyard.
Watching the feeder birds is what got me interested in birding to begin with.
Then it was recommended that I join this group three years ago. And it's been
a great learning experience. I think all my previous posts have revolved
around what's in my backyard. And I want to hear what everyone else has too.
Sometimes I'm even jealous of the people that have more unusual birds at
their feeders than I do! But I'm always inspired when I get a new arrival,
and love IDing it and learning about it. And sharing the news with other bird
lovers is part of the fun.
So, to any of you who hesitate to post your backyard birds on this list, send
them to me privately. I'll respond, tell you what I have here, and might even
send you some photos of the hundreds that I have taken of the humble feeder
birds!
Got to go, 'cause my Hairy Woodpecker is waiting patiently on the tree for me
to fill the suet feeder.
