[TN-Bird] Mississippi Rv and "Pits"

Sept.27, 2008
Shelby Co. TN

The river has finally turned its head down and a few birds were found,
including; 3 Caspian Terns, 1 Forster's and a ton of DC Cormorants heading
south.
Over the tree line came 3 Broad-wings, 2 Cooper's and a circling resident
adult Bald Eagle. Swallow numbers have dropped with a single Tree among the
Rough-wings and Barn at Wolf River. The Chimney Swifts are still feeding very
high but in smaller numbers.

Scanning through the thousands of Least Sandpipers at Ensley, produced 2
Solitary, 2 Spotted, 20+ Western (most in basic or heading that way) and 3
Semipalmated (getting late for them), a handful of juvenile Pectoral Sandpipers

and a single bright immature SANDERLING. In one ditch line, I found one SORA
and
 flushed a Wilson's Snipe.
Good Birding !!!
