Mississippi Kites are "flocking" at Meander Lake at Shelby Farms. It
is a mixed group of juveniles and adults and numbered about 20-25
this morning. They are bathing, foraging for insects and resting.
This is the second year kites have chosen this spot. If you want to
enjoy their antics, please ask permission from the folks at the fish
ponds (which are now posted)and look out for ticks as I collected 4
in about 20 minutes.
