Today, Tues. 1-28-03, from Mud Island in Memphis, TN. I observed a PERIGRINE
FALCON sitting out on the rocks on one of the jetties just hanging out for a
while watching all the gulls go by. I would imagine that it is the local that
Jeff Wilson was talking about the other day that hasn't been seen in a while.
The lone SNOW GOOSE was still hanging around that Jeff Wilson and I saw on
Saturday and he saw again Sun. or yesterday one and the bird really doesn't
look good. I expect it to probably pass away this week it looks like. It
didn't look like it had a lot of energy left today as it sat on a group of
rocks down from the large bar. I saw the SPOTTED SANDPIPER that Jeff saw the
other day as well out on the sand bar and it was a very energetic bird, it
looked like it was having a feeding frenzy. Other than that just R-B Gulls,
Bonaparte's Gulls, Ring-necked Ducks, and a Hooded Merganser.
