Hi folks,
On Thursday I heard a Louisiana Waterthrush singing at Crib Gap,
which is the highest point (ironically) of the road to Cades Cove in
Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
On Friday I heard one singing by the lower bridge on Tremont Road,
also in the park.
Both are in Blount County, TN.
The average first date for this species at Tremont is March 26, and
the earliest first date is March 15. These averages are taken over
only a 10-year period, so they are not terribly strong yet. Perhaps
10 years from now they will be very valuable.
