On the Buffalo River CBC today (12/19/2011) a Long-tailed Duck on Laurel Hill Lake seen this morning from the main access area (not seen in the late afternoon but much of the lake is not visible from this spot).

Laurel Hill Lake is in Laurel Hill WMA in far northwestern Lawrence County. It can be reached off the Natchez Trace Parkway or from Highway 64 by following the brown and yellow signs. Two viewing areas -- the main access spot and the dam. Signs lead you to the main area. From there to reach the dam go back to the entrance, and keep bearing right for a couple of miles (roads become dirt WMA roads for last part) and you will wind up driving across the dam.
