Meredith Clebsch, on her way home from work today 8-23-2010, spotted the a/m shrike sitting on a power line. She gave us a heads up around 5;30 PM by phone. Denise & I drove to the site and by 6;15 PM had it in the cross hairs. The site is on Hwy 321 in Blount Co about 0.3 miles from the Loudon Co line. Marble Hill road crosses Hwy 321. From there follow the power lines towards Friendsville. The shrike was between the second and fourth power pole. Lighting was too harsh for pictures with our equipment. We have hunted these birds, for over a year, to no avail, until Merdith's sighting. I hope it stays in the area. The reason for this late posting is due to my error by using AOL instead of YAHOO, now I understand the difference.!?
