Blount Co.
I took a quick visit to Kyker Bottoms Sunday afternoon to see if there was
any water and to photograph dragonflies. There was more than I had expected
between the dikes below the utility barn. I saw perhaps a dozen immature
WOOD DUCKS, 4 GREAT EGRETS, and 5 imm. LITTLE BLUE HERONS-the most of the
latter I've seen there at one time. The dragonflies were quite numerous,
although only 9 species. The only one unexpected was Halloween
Pennant-several of them, for those who might be interested.
