Sorry for the late entry. On 10-20-08 while looking through my glass enclosed
den, I saw a small bird at the bird bath, located on a rock arrangement on the
ground. It was walking around the edge of the bath. I was not really not
concentrating but I was suddenly jarred by a really bold white unbroken eye
ring on a gray head and a yellowish belly. I still couldn't believe what I was
seeing and ran for the bird book. When I got back it was walking around on the
ground pecking around, then suddenly flew into a lilac bush and disappeared.
In a lifetime of birding, suddenly I had a "Connecticut Warbler", come to me
and say, "OK, here I am". A LIFE BIRD FOR ME !!
I know this one is fairly common to others on migration, but for some reason it
had eluded me.
