[TN-Bird] Leucistic molting pattern in a Mallard Duck

Ensley Bottoms
Shelby Co, TN
I've been following a leucistic male Mallard for a few years that hatched
here at Ensley Bottoms. In the original brood there were eight young of normal
coloration plus a pair of leucistic birds. As they matured over the years
returning to the area, I was able to tell that there was a female and a male
but
the female disappeared after two years. The male continues to be seen and
this year, I was able to photograph the bird as it molted from eclipse to
breeding plumage. There are other photos on the page of this bird's breeding
plumage but thought some would be interested in seeing the bird going through
this
