Least Terns are quite common on the Mississippi River in Tunica and Desoto
County during breeding season with over 100 nests counted on one sandbar near
the Casino Area in recent times. They appear with some regularity on
Arkabutla and Sardis and other north MS Corps Lakes, especially when the
Mississippi is high. They have been seen nesting in plowed fields in quite a
few northern MS counties when the river stays high for long periods.
Good Birding!!!
