More pre-work highlights from the backyard this morning (Black Oak
Ridge, west Knox Co, Tues, 7 Oct 2008).

I've had good luck this year with Empids both in finding them and
with them being vocal to allow ID. This morning I had a cooperative
LEAST FLYCATCHER in the yard that was giving its call note and also
giving good looks at the prominent, complete eyering and short
primary projection.

38 species

Ruby-throated Hummingbird, 2+

E Wood-Pewee, 2
LEAST FLYCATCHER, 1, heard calling and seen well
E Phoebe, 1 eating pokeberries

White-eyed Vireo, 1
BLUE-HEADED VIREO, 1, first of season

Gray-cheeked Thrush, at least 2
Wood Thrush, 1

Tennessee Warbler, 4+
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, 1 first of season in the yard
Nashville Warbler, 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler, 1, with chestnut-sides
Magnolia Warbler, 4+ including the odd-plumaged bird from yesterday
Black-throated Green Warbler, 2
Ovenbird, 2
