[TN-Bird] Laughing Gulls, Sanderling, phalarope at South Holston Lake

Musick's Campground
South Holston Lake
Sullivan County, TN
It was another good afternoon at Musick's Camgpround on South Holston Lake
Thursday, (9/9) in Sullivan Co., TN.
The Sooty Tern made an extended appearance allowing for great looks.
Two Laughing Gulls arrived at 5:55 p.m. and stayed most of the evening at the
island just offshore of the campground.
A Sanderling fed until dark at the island.
A phalarope, seen, identified as a Red Phalarope, and reported earlier by Joe
Goldston, may have been seen by Wallace Coffey and John Shumate. The bird
flew to the shoreline of the campground but stayed just 10 seconds are so
before flying away. Shumate and Coffey could instantly tell it was a phalarope
but got no positive ID.
