[TN-Bird] Kyker Bottom TWRA Refuge - Blount County, Maryville

I had the pleasure of meeting Jean Alexander, June Welch and David
Johnson this morning to bird Kyker Bottom as part of the Blount County
fall bird count.

We divided up the refuge and each of us went our separate ways, the
following is my list for the day -- I look forward to the reports from
the others.

Maybe the highlight (or disappointment) of the day was about 10:00am. I
was heading back to my car to move to another area ... I was by the
levee overflow gate in the small pond at the corner (straight out from
the upper observation deck) I was watching a few smaller birds on the
brush pile there when all of a sudden a Perigrine Falcon swooped in and
nabbed a juvenile Mockingbird! Of course all that I was able to get a
picture of was a blurry shot of the bird's behind!

I did get a nice image of my first Chestnut-sided Warbler

The Least Flycatcher was still in the vicinity of the waterfowl blind,
although I only saw one, down from the 4-5 earlier in the week.
