[TN-Bird] Knoxville-Hickory Bend field trip results

 
Yesterday morning 8 KTOSers observed the following birds: 

peacocks near the parking area greeted us as we arrived. 

blue-gray gnatcatcher, Yellow-breated chat, white-throated sparrow, cowbird,
mourning dove, scarlet tanager, eastern towhee, great blue heron, common
yellowthroat, song sparrow, eastern bluebird, canada goose, field sparrow,
american goldfinch, common grackle, pine warbler, eastern phoebe, carolina
wren, carolina chickadee, northern cardinal, european starling, downy
woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker, pileated woodpecker, american crow,
osprey, white-eyed vireo, northern parula, COMMON LOON, red-tailed hawk,
red-shouldered hawk, cedar waxwing, blue jay, northern rough-winged swallow,
tufted titmouse 

to get to this TVA public land, take the watt rd exit and go north until you
get to everett rd on thr right, turn and follow the rd to a garvel drive
thathas a small sign that reads TVA Hickory Bend.  The access trail (about a
mile) leads back to this 250 ac piece of land on the Clinch River/ Melton
Hill reservoir.
