Chris didn't mention that he's found nighthawks here before into at
least December. Too bad that area isn't in the Knoxville CBC circle.
FYI, Speckled Green Fruitworm Moths and Linden Loopers are flying now.
Fall Cankerworm Moths will be out soon followed by Spring Cankerworm
Moths then Small Phigalia and Toothed Phigalia in January and early
February. Green Cloverworm Moths fly year round in Knoxville... I've
found them in every month of the year. Some of the smaller microleps,
especially some from the family Tortricidae are also active. Moths are
most active on the warmer nights of course but there is food out there
for nighthawks.
