[TN-Bird] Kingston Steam Plant birds- common goldeneye

I birded Kingston Steam Plant in Roane County, Kingston, TN on November 27,
2006 from 4:20 pm to 5:45 pm. Watts Bar Lake elevation was 737 which is
enough to expose mudflats on the Emory River. Killdeer were found on the
flats in the river. The following is a list of birds seen:

1. Great blue heron
2. Canada goose
3. Mallard- 5
4. Ring-necked duck- 19
5. Common goldeneye- 6 (with the hooded mergansers; in the embayment south
of the ash ponds)
6. Hooded merganser- 191
7. American coot
8. gull species- 1
9. Rock pigeon- 19
10. Belted kingfisher
11. Blue jay
12. Carolina chickadee
13. Carolina wren
14. Eastern towhee
15. Song sparrow
16. Swamp sparrow
17. Eastern meadowlark
18. Killdeer- 6

I did not concentrate on songbirds, in fact most of my birding at Kingston
Steam Plant concentrates on shorebirds and waterfowl so songbird numbers
will be low to non-existant.
