[TN-Bird] KTOS trip report: Blount Co.

THis morning (3/18) KTOS had a beginners field trip at
the Maryville Greenbelt.  Observers included: Dan &
Laurie Mooney, Tony & Autumn King, Robin B., Sally G.,
Allan and Tracey Muise

We met at the library and walked the "loop" around
pond there.  Prior to our walk we ran into Emily Cary
who noted that she had seen a Kestrel earlier, we did
not find that bird.

We had a total of 22 species as follows:

Canada Goose: 2
GADWALL: 1
Mallard: appx 20
GREENWINGED TEAL: 1
Red-Tailed Hawk: 1
American Coot: appx 10
Rock Pigeon: lots, including some on nests
Mourning Dove
Eastern Phoebe: 2
Blue Jay: 2
Am. Crow: 6
TREE SWALLOW: at least 2
NORTHERN ROUGH WINGED SWALLOW: at least 3
Eastern Bluebird: 3
American Robin: appx 5, including a pair building a 
      NEST
N. Mockingbird: appx 6
Eur. Starling: including a pair building a NEST
Song Sparrow: appx. 4
No. Cardinal: appx. 6
BROWN-HEAD Cowbird: 2
House Finch: 6
Am. Goldfinch: appx. 6
House Sparrow: including a pair building a NEST
