[TN-Bird] Interesting junco feeding habit

Happy snowy morning,

Here in the Charlotte Park area of West Nashville, Davidson County, near the
Cumberland River across from Bell's Bend, I've been sitting close to the
French doors trying to keep the starlings scared away from the peanut butter I
put out for the more favored species. For several days, I have noticed that
my little juncos stay on he floor of the deck to feed, but when other birds
knock some of the peanut butter onto the deck floor, they will come and
retrieve
it and gobble it right down. Apparently, they don't want to perch on the
branch and get it from there, but they will eat the p.b. that gets dropped
onto the deck.

The only somewhat exciting birds I've had today was a gorgeous pair of
purple finches that came earlier. I'm going to have to go downstairs and raid
the
food supply in a few minutes as the birds are really feeding heavily at
Dee's "Smorgabird" today.

Cheers & prayers,

Dee Thompson
Nashville, TN
