Chatters,
The following is important information showing how we can help in getting
this funding for important projects in our states. Read thru the numerous
projects waiting for funding in the US, at the new revised "Teaming with
Wildlife" web site at:
http://www.teaming.com/site/index.cfm
This heads up furnished by Paul Baicich, editor of the ABA - Birding Magazine.
"Despite the drag on the full-CARA package after 9/11 and the US budget
situation, there are some good things happening for state-based wildlife
funding. These are great opportunities for bird funding and
wildlife-watching funding.
Over the next week, Congressional appropriators will be making critical
decisions on which programs to fund for Fiscal Year 2003. The web site
information explains why it is urgent and timely for the TWW coalition to
back State Wildlife Grants, increasing funding for FY03 to a requested $150
million. The web information includes HOW you can send that message to
Congress. Fortunately, the TWW coalition and all the major "green groups" are
united on this aim. The yearly "CARA-lite" appropriations are shaping up to
be important bridges, allowing the states to ramp-up to a full-CARA
potential."

proposed projects waiting for funding across the USA.

Take Action on Appropriations
Over the next few weeks, Appropriators will be making critical decisions
about which programs to fund - which programs to increase or decrease - for
Fiscal Year 2003. It is urgent and timely for the coalition to demonstrate
the importance of State Wildlife Grants and voice the need for significantly
increased funding for FY03, at least to the level of $150 million.
