[TN-Bird] Imm. White Ibis at Little Elder Is.--Woods Reservoir

Dale and Jeanie Swant have found that an immature White Ibis is using
Little Elder Island on Wood's Reservoir* as a night roost.

The bird was first observed on Thursday, Aug 19. Ruth Luckado and I were
treated to a view of the Ibis as it came to roost at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday
the 23rd. We were in the Swant's boat at (I'm guessing here) less than
100 yds. from the Island.

Also seen among the 150 or so Cattle Egrets on the island were an adult
Little Blue Heron, 2 (1 adult and 1 imm.) Black -crowned Night-Herons, and
several Great Egrets and Green Herons. Black and Forster''s terns were
fishing at a distance.

The Little Blue was being constantly harassed by immature Cattle Egrets as
it repeatedly attempted to take roost. The Swants report similar action on
previous evenings.

*as reported earlier by Chis Butler, the island is found in DeLorme's
Tennessee Atlas & Gazetteer exactly on the crease between pages 22 and 23.
