[TN-Bird] Hudsonian Godwit Photos - Ensley Bottoms

May 17, 2009
Ensley Bottoms
Shelby Co. TN

What a nice surprise to find this Hudsonian Godwit at Ensley, 6 days later
than the one that showed up last year, just 100 yards away from where
this morning's bird was busily feeding.

Four photos starting at: _http://www.pbase.com/ol_coot/image/112652567_
(http://www.pbase.com/ol_coot/image/112652567)

Also at Ensley today: Killdeer, Black-necked Stilts, Spotted Sandpipers,
Solitary Sandpiper, Lesser Yellowlegs, Semipalmated Sandpipers, Least
Sandpipers, 1 White-rumped Sandpiper, breeding plumaged Dunlin. Two male and
a
female Shoveler plus pairs of Blue-winged Teal need to be watched for
breeding. Four Lesser Scaup males are still hanging at TVA Lake with a single
female, no Black-bellied Whistling Ducks seen since Friday. A pair of Sora and
a few Coots still skulk in one pool and a Song Sparrow was seen building a
nest.

Good Birding !!!
