Along with the Glossy Ibis reported last night, the Swants and I observed the taking of an immature Green Heron by an adult Black-crowned Night-Heron and counted on the island at least 8 adult Little Blue Herons 8 Great Egrets 9 Great Blue Herons 21 Green Herons and 11 Black-crowned Night-Herons. Also seen near the island were 25 Cliff swallows, 3 D. C. Cormorants, a Coopers Hawk carrying avian prey toward the area of the Space Center, and 14 Mallards. (Little Elder Island is the blue dot divided by the division of pages 22 and 23 in Delorme at height B. It is viewable with a scope from an obvious pull-off on TN 279 going West from TN 127 just south of the Morris Ferry Bridge). Jerry Ingles Sewanee, TN (Franklin Country) It has been my very great fortune to find an incredibly wonderful bird. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
