Ralph and Kay -
You are perfectly describing possum scat. I left the lid off my black
oil sunflower seed storage container once and had to sift quite a bit of
this out. I actually caught one of the possums inside, so I have no
doubt. Raccoons are almost always told by the presence of muddy footprints.
