[TN-Bird] Help identify seed thieves please

I have two open tray feeders. One is on a porch rail, the other about 5 feet
up on a slender metal pole and has a cover. Someone comes at night and eats
black oil sunflower seeds and leaves presents. These are small narrow footballs
of chewed seed remains - about half inch long, quarter inch wide, narrow ovals
like thin footballs. There is no fecal material but something holds the stuff
together. Looks more like something coughed up or spat out, but constant
shapes. We are high on a hill with a lot of woodland, with 114 bird species and
many mammals (rabbit, deer, possum, mice (stinking up one car) squirrels - grey
and fox, ? flying not seen and maybe more. Anyone know who the thief is?
