[TN-Bird] Hatchie NWR - Immature Whooping Crane

I met Mike Todd at daybreak this morning and he had arrived a little before  
me and pointed out the caramel and white immature Whooper, perched out in  the 
middle of the lake with 3 Great Egrets. Shortly after it got light enough to  
take a few distant photos, a mature Bald Eagle spooked everything as it 
swooped  over the lake. Mike had seen an immature fly over just before I got 
there.
 
The Whooping Crane flew to the far south end of the lake but turned high in  
the sky and flew back and landed right it front of the pier where we were  
standing. After a few quick photos we had to move back 75 feet in order to take 
 
some digiscope shots. Mike has some really fine photos which he will share  
tonight. In the mean time here are three of mine and I'll add more  
tonight...........Got to go to work!
