[TN-Bird] Harpeth River State Park Field Trip

15 Members and guests of the Nashville chapter of TOS
had a field trip to the various units of the Harpeth
River State Park (Cheatham/Davidson Counties).
61 species were recorded, including 12 warblers.
Highlights:
Narrows of the Harpeth Unit (Cheatham County)
4 Vireo species (White-eyed, Yellow-throated,
Blue-headed, Red-eyed)
Blue-winged Warbler
Northern Parula - good looks - 6 total
Yellow-throated Warbler - 5 total, great looks on
ridge
Prothontary Warbler - along river
Worm-eating Warbler - on ridge
Louisiana Waterthrush - along river
Both Tanagers (heard, Summer seen)
Orchard Oriole
Gossett Tract (Cheatham County)
Blue-winged, Prairie, Common Yellowthroat and
Yellow-breasted Chats abounded. One Prairie came out
and posed (front and back) for over 5 minutes, singing
away. Great looks were also had of multiple Common
Yellowthroats. The many Chats were only briefly seen.
Hidden Lake Unit (Davidson County)
Played more hide and seek with Yellow-breasted Chats.
Prairie Warblers also heard.
