Hamilton Co., TN
I took my Ornithology class banding at Greenway Farms on Wednesday
afternoon, and we got a nice assortment of migrants:
Magnolia Warbler = 4
American Redstart = 2
Blue-winged Warbler = 1
Black-and-white Warbler = 1
Yellow-throated Vireo = 1
Gray Catbird = 1
We also saw several more redstarts, 2 Hooded Warblers, 1 Magnolia Warbler,
and an Acadian Flycatcher
I banded again this morning, and all the warblers had gone, but the catbirds
had moved in. I banded 3, and saw 10 more. There were also a lot of
thrashers flying around.
The cold front that is expected to move through this weekend should bring a
nice influx of migrants down!
