This weekend is the 2007 Great Backyard Bird Count. Hope everyone is ready to head out, see some birds, and report them online at www.birdsource.org/gbbc. Last year Tennessee birders reported 123 species, just shy of the 2001 record of 124 species. Will this year be the year to beat that pre 9/11 record? Last year, birdwatchers in the state submitted a record 1,277 checklists during the count. It would be great to see even more checklists submitted. So, take your friends for a bird walk this weekend, enjoy some nice birds, and report them online as part of the GBBC. Have fun!
