[TN-Bird] Gray-Cheeked Thrush- lots of birds / Cove Lake State Park, TN

For an hour mid-day at Cove Lake State Park, Caryville TN - Campbell
County I had some very nice birds. In fact, my best birding the entire
year. Thrushes were everywhere on the back trails..I expected most to be
Wood Thrush or Swainson's and many were, but I actually had a total of 7
GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH. A first for me to have this many in one day. I had
very good looks at these, as they were all close to the walkway through
the back wooded trail area.
***7 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH- Could have been a Bicknell's in the group..just
could not get a good enough look at one possible candidate in the
underbrush.
** 16 SWAINSON'S THRUSH
* 1 Veery
6 Wood Thrush
MAGNOLIA WARBLERS at least 15+
Hooded 1+
American Redstart
Common Yellowthroated Warbler

22 ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS
7 SCARLET TANAGERS
50 or more Blue Jays
** YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER- first fall as well as:
Flicker, Red Bellied ;Hairy and Downy Woodpecker

1 Unknown Empidonax. Poss. Least or Yellow-Bellied - Not good enough look

7 Catbirds
4 White Eyed Vireo
Many Robins
Assorted resident species.

1 GREAT EGRET (Did not ck lake thoroughly)

The woods were just full of birds still busily feeding at noon. Of
course, I wondered what early morning was like! Should have been there.
