[TN-Bird] Good Warbler Morning Finally

The warblers finally began moving through Smithville this morning - we had
Yellow, Yellow-throated, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow-rumped, Palm and Cape May
before 8:00 a.m. Also the first in the yard this year Eastern Kingbird; all
that yellow was beautiful but there is nothing more stately than this black and
white flycatcher.
The three male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were joined today by a female. The
White-throated Sparrows finally won the "I can wait longer than you can to
migrate" contest with the Purple Finches. We still have about a dozen
White-throated but the two stubborn finches apparently left yesterday, April
24. Our Dark-eyed Juncos left April 5, the White-crowned Sparrow stayed until
April 18 but apparently the White-throateds want to set some kind of longevity
record.

We were elated that we're seeing some good birds from the deck. Red and Louise
Gambill are visiting with us Friday and Saturday and we were concerned that
we'd have nothing to show them if the birding drought had continued.
