I entered 2 GBBC counts for Saturday and 3 for today, all in the Kingston zip code. I saw many of the usual suspects this weekend (and had some unexpected misses -- no crows, for example!), but the best were Fox sparrows in my yard (7 miles south of the Kingston exit [I-40/352] at about mile marker 564 and 0.5 miles away and ~150 ft above the TN river/Watts Bar Res.) -- 1 Saturday and 2 today -- and a beautiful adult bald eagle soaring over the lake at about mile 564.3, viewed from Ross Estates Rd. Only the 2nd eagle I've seen near my house since I moved here in '99!! Woo hoo!! Makes me wonder if the very large hawk I couldn't ID (because I'd left my binoculars at home - AGGG!!) near Center Hill Ferry boatlaunch on the Clinch just upstream from Kingston was really an eagle... Hope all of you had some excellent birds/numbers/species diversity to report.
