[TN-Bird] Fwd: Huge numbers of birds come with the rain & a weird coincidence

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if a regular among your titmice (or other re=
gular visitors) was indeed calling you out=2E (I apologize if I've told this=
 tale already; CRS=2E) Three or four springs ago, I was late in hanging my h=
ummingbird feeders=2E One day a large female rubythroat -- I presumed the fe=
male who'd nested in my yard the previous year -- parked in front of my face=
 for a few beats and danced a couple of times right over the top of my head,=
 making little disparaging hummer remarks=2E I promptly went inside, prepare=
d a feeder, and within minutes of hanging it, she was sipping away=2E

Happy "coincidences"

dence

Good morning,
=20
The neighborhood is FILLED with birds here in the Charlotte Park area, West =20=

Nashville, Davidson County just east of the Cumberland River across from=20
Bell's Bend=2E Though not spectacular in species, they are spectacular in =
 number=2E=20
=20
Hundreds of robins, red wings and starlings are all over the yard and in th=
e=20
trees=2E All my regular feeder birds are here as well=2E The red-wings we=
re=20
creeping along the tree branches seemingly finding something edible in the=20=

hackberry and pine bark=2E Most of the red wings appear to be immature mal=
es=2E
=20
A peregrine flew up from an adjacent yard and off to the east=2E I don't k=
now=20
if it had gone down after something or not=2E It did not appear to be=20
carrying any prey=2E
=20
A really funny coincidence happened when I heard something "tap" on my =20
French door=2E It was a titmouse=2E I noticed that the peanut butter was =
all=20
gone--AGAIN! Now, I don't for a moment believe that the titmouse has taken=
 lessons=20
from the mockingbird and was "calling me out," but=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=
=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E=2E?? =20
Well, I did put more PB out, and it is all gone again=2E Some fell to the =
deck,=20
and a female cardinal just now ate that=2E
=20
Looks as if I'll be refilling feeders much of today as food is disappearing=20=

almost as fast as I can put it out there! All the extra birds came in just=20=

as it started to drizzle here and are feeding in this light rain=2E
=20
Birding is sooooo exciting=2E  Enjoy!
