[TN-Bird] Fwd: [] [Fwd: american bittern sighting]

I don't know much about bitterns, but I spent many hours watching
Great Blue Herons (GBHE)on the Chesapeake. And I can say that they
will eat... durn near anything. I'll bet a lot of TN-birders have
seen some of those famous heron-eats-snake and heron-eats-turtle
photos.
But GBBH also eat LOTS of bugs. I've seen them spent hours in a
field nailing grasshoppers.
I've never seen one take a mammal, but I'd bet my next paycheck that
given the opportunity, they would
