OK -- I'll explain, but only briefly.

Roan Mountain (Carvers Gap/Roan High Bluff) has been omitted; instead, only
the Yellow Mountain Gap area is included (p. 57), even though the heading
for the collection of sites is "Roan Mountain Group".

And, Clingman's Dome and the C.D. road are omitted, and Newfound Gap is
briefly mentioned under Oconaluftee Visitor Center, which does mention some
spruce-fir birds. As there is a site for the Heintooga Spur Road in GSMNP,
that is a good alternative to the dome and the roads on the state line.

These absences are not about "participation". There is a reason they are
missing, but I can't figure out why.

I have not seen this yet, so can just imagine. Is it not about
participation? Please share your thoughts.
