Subject: Lenoir City Bald Eagles

For the sixth year in a row this Eagle pair have produced two eaglets.Steve
Perry and I viewed the nest from the bluff above the nest tree. We witnessed
two
very active eaglets ,in grey plumage, moving all over the nest. Huge yellow feet
were evident. They were panting while bathed in bright sunshine: on one of our
hottest spring days yet.Meanwhile mother was flying over the river getting
exercise   I observed different posture in the sitting eagles on February 27
,2011 so concluded that was the eaglet's hatching date.  Their grey feathers
should change to brown color around April 5.Stay tuned. Too bad we don't have
an
Eagle Cam!         During the past two days I have seen two of the four
Loggerhead Shrikes in this area . The one on Hwy 321 near the Blount/Loudon
County line is the most reliable sighting, with 6.00 P.M being the fovored
time.
