Went searching for the Townsend's Solitaire late Friday afternoon at 7
Islands in east Knox County, Tenn. Was at the pond around 3:30 p.m. Lots
of Northern Cardinals and the place was hopping with sparrows... field,
song, white throated & a junco (probably others too that I couldn't ID) but
no Solitaire though I carefully checked out each mockingbird that I saw.
Highlight of the day was a northern harrier way up in the sky. Stuck around
for about an hour and headed back before 5. The weather was beautiful, cool
and sunny.
