This morning as I crossed Gallagher Bridge on S.R. 95 approaching the
former K-25 Site, I saw what looked to be an osprey perched on the
downstream side of the bridge near the closest transmission tower. This
afternoon, 1600 yd north of that possible sighting, my boss (another
TN-birder) watched a large, dark bird catch a fish from the old K-25 P-1
Pond and fly off with it.
So I think we have our first osprey; will take a closer look w/ binocs
later this afternoon.
