I live in the suburbs in Germantown TN and I have yet to see one pine siskin at
my feeder this year! I have averaged about 6 goldfinches and sometimes up to
10 house finches at my feeders at one time, but no pine siskins. I have also
not had any nuthatches or brown creepers. What is up with that. Every year I
get those birds and love to see them. The titmouses and and the chickadees are
averaging the same, usually a pair of each. I know that many of you are seeing
plenty of pine siskins but what about the nuthatches and the brown creepers? I
may have seen a nuthatch in Nov. but can't recall seeing one in 2009. Has
anyone in West Tenn. noticed a decline?
