[TN-Bird] Ensley Trip

I had an hour between appointments today and had to give Ensley a check. The
Sanderling and Willet are still present and the Pectoral Sandpiper numbers
have soared. The Willet must know my truck by now as it does not bother to do
more than just give me a quick glance and go about its feeding. I was within
20 feet of the bird today. Looks like he has found enough foot to stay for a
little while.

The Black-necked Stilt adults have moved the 4 young off their island. They
do this by both adults flying to the nearest land area and just call until the
young swim to them. Unfortunately two of the young had some pretty messed up
down day before yesterday and therefore not as buoyant as the two fluffy
siblings. They are really gunked up with muck after their swim. They probably
have a fair chance of surviving with good care and they have two doting
parents. We will have to wait and see.............

Good Birding!!!
