The 39th consecutive Elizabethton Fall Bird Count was held on 27 Sep 2008 by members of the Lee & Lois Herndon Chapter of TOS. 32 observers in 6 parties covered Carter Co and parts of adjacent Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, & Washington Cos. in northeast Tennessee. Observers: Fred Alsop, Jerry Bevens, Rob Biller, Tess Cumbie, Gil Derouen, Dianne Draper, Glen Eller, Kathy Gunther, Jacki Hinshaw, Don Holt, Mark Hopey, Reece Jamerson, Jennifer Kennedy, Rick Knight, Richard Lewis, Cleo Mayfield, Rad Mayfield, Greg McCorkle, Joe McGuiness, Tom McNeil, Beth McPherson, Eric & Kathy Noblet, Miriam Perkins, Brookie & Jean Potter, Lynn Ray, Bryan Stevens, Kim Stroud, David Thometz, Gary Wallace, Mary Anna Wheat. 10,925 individuals of 127 species were recorded.
