A singing Canada Warbler in the yard (western Lewis County) this
morning was a surprise; this isn't my earliest ever for TN but is is
my second earliest and only the second time I have come across the
species here in April. Got a very nice look at him; always has been
one of my favorite warblers.
In other news, the Carolina Wrens being co-parented by Eastern
Phoebes fledged today; there seemed to be some custody battles going
on between the biological and adoptive parents but I did see
fledglings being fed by both wrens and phoebes later in the day. I
suspect I'll lose track of them now given the multiple nesting pairs
of both species within close proximity of our house.
