[TN-Bird] Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery- 7 duck species

I birded TWRA's Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery in Anderson County, Clinton, TN
today (November 29, 2005) from 8:05 to 9:33 am. Only one pond has shoreline
but all ponds have some water (from full water to pockets of standing water)
in them. The following is a list of waterfowl and related birds observed:
1. GBHeron- 1
2. Canada goose- 49
3. A Black duck- 1 (this duck had a yellow bill with black mottles. Chin
was a buff color. Body
feathers had dark centers with buff edges)
4. Mallard- 26
5. Redhead- 1 male
6. Ring-necked duck- 88
7. Lesser scaup- 3 (2 male and 1 female. Saw bird up close. Head had no
frontal peak)
8. Bufflehead- 14
9. Ruddy duck- 1
10. American coot- 5
11. Ring-billed gulls- 56
12. Killdeer- 2
