Cocke county, 3/17/08, 5-7 PM Douglas Lake elevation: 968.4 ft. There were several rafts of waterfowl on the lake, plus more along a grassy bar about 1/2 mile out, over 500 total. I identified 9 species in the mix, but didn't attempt to count individuals, since many were backlit & distant, with heads tucked in for the evening. At one point, 2 immature bald eagles swooped across the lake and spooked some ducks. When the eagles crossed the shoreline, they in turn were pursued by a few crows, who chased them out of sight.
