Greene County: Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC) and nearby areas
A couple of hours of birding time after work today produced some nice finds in
western Greene County--
Gadwall (12 WMDC)
American Wigeon (2 on Gravel Woods Road)
American Black Duck (10--9 WMDC, 1 elsewhere; this is a fairly high total for
Greene County)
Mallard (54)
Northern Shoveler (24 on Gravel Woods Road)
Northern Pintail (3 WMDC)
Green-winged Teal (12)
Ring-necked Duck (2 on Gravel Woods Road)
Great Egret (WMDC, fourth pond; my first January record for GREG in Greene
County)
Northern Harrier (3)
American Kestrel (8)
Killdeer (102)
Red-headed Woodpecker (Green Road)
Loggerhead Shrike (Purgason Road 0.2 mile south of Highway 348)
Savannah Sparrow
Don Miller
