The advice to be respectful of the Whooping Cranes means do not disturb
the birds period. Do any of you have any advice for what hunters shooting
at Sandhill Cranes
when Whoopers might be in the area could do to assure that gunfire and
stalking in nearby
fields does not disturb Whoopers ? Such recommendations needs to be quickly
passed along to
the US Fish & Wildlife Service, TWRA and political administrations to help
manage the
future Sandhill Crane hunting season that is most likely going to happen in
Tennessee.
Does anyone know if the 5 of 8 Trumpeter Swans shot
at Eagle Bluffs near Colombia MO on Dec. 29 were present during a hunting
season for any
similar swans, cranes, etc ? The post on TN-Birds said persons were
apprehended.

Let's go birding......
