TN birders, Sorry this is late. Had a meeting in Nashville this past weekend, and had a few good birds. First stop was the first pullout at the west end of the dam at Percy Priest, and had 13 red-breasted mergs(2f,11m), Canada geese, Mallard, single male northern shoveler, ~20 redhead, 3 male greater scaup, ~80 lesser scaup, ~30 common loon, and ~50 American coot. Next, went to Anderson Rec Area, where after 55 minutes of walking on the fitness trail, and not seeing the merlin at the point, had one at the end of the straightaway immediately after the parking area on the uphill side of the trail. It was about 4:15pm local time when I had it, as I know some have missed this bird on several tries.
